The classic carnation of yesteryear is reinvented. Spicy as ever, the carnation accord now unveils a more sensuous, mysterious side. Stirring up trouble, Delphine Jelk breaks free of gender barriers to orchestrate a cryptic, ambiguous trail.
Benzoin simulates the powdery, spicy accents of the carnation note and melds with vanilla and a leather note to liberate the flower.

Classic flower turned scandalous, Oeillet Pourpre might bring to mind that most provocative man of letters, Donatien Alphonse François de Sade. Noted novelist and philosopher of the 18th century, this libertine advocated eroticism to the point of excess.
 
CORONATION ACCORD
A vintage scent that was in vogue in the early 18th century, the carnation is a mute flower. It does not offer up its fragrance as one would expect through the traditional techniques of distillation or extraction.
As such, each perfumer has creative freedom to interpret the fragrance as they see fit, in the form of an accord.
So very Guerlain, the carnation accord in Œillet Pourpre combines notes of rose and spices.
